Position: OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Full/Part - Time: Full time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm May include some evenings and weekends as required
Salary: $27,000 - $30,000 per year + Benefits
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will report directly to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supervising and scheduling a team of Editors;
- Conducting performance reviews;
- Investigating and resolving issues that come up within the department and between departments;
- Quality Control of all programs - monitoring production of Editors;
- Editing various documents (including Mystery Shopping reports, evaluation forms, marketing materials, ISO documentation, etc);
- Proofreading and writing documents (i.e. forms, instructions, marketing materials, manuals, newsletters, ISO documentation, etc);
- Data entry;
- Responding to and investigating client requests that come in through the Client Feedback System;
- Attending client meetings, as necessary;
- Assisting the Operations Manager in compiling and formatting statistical data for clients;
- Looking into issues as they are brought to his / her attention from various departments;
- Implementing new procedures as required and communicating them to the department and other departments, as needed;
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess a Degree, Diploma or Major in technical Writing, Journalism, Publishing, English, or Literature. Supervisory experience and a critical eye for detail are essential for the position. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and the Internet is mandatory. An understanding of Lotus Notes would be an asset. Strong communication (both written and oral) and outstanding organizational skills are a must. Enthusiasm, energy and a goal/results-oriented attitude are prerequisites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will report directly to the President of Sensors Quality Management Inc. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Reception and multi-line switchboard duties;
- Preparation and distribution of communications (mail/faxes/email enquiries, etc.);
- Writing of correspondences;
- Preparing contractual paperwork;
- Purchasing;
- Inventory control of office supplies and equipment;
- Monitoring and ordering of office supplies and equipment;
- Data entry;
- Maintaining a database;
- Supplier management;
- Maintenance of the office environment;
- Aiding in the coordination of company events;

OPERATION COORDINATOR DUTIES:
- Update Status Board;
- Distribute reports to clients;
- Schedule shops before the 15th of the month;
- Update files and Operations Department;
- Update daily files and operations manuals;
- Create client user ID’s and passwords;
- Preparation and distribution of statistical information;
- Program set-up;
- Data entry;
- Website testing and client database cross checks;
- Communicate directly with clients; and
- Other duties as required.
The Administrative Assistant will assist the President of Sensors Quality Management Inc. with on-going duties and assist other departments as required. This person will be required to be an active and contributing member of the Employee Services Committee, aiding them in arrangements for company events.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess a Business Degree or Diploma in Office Administration or Business Management, as well as a previous background in Customer Service. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and possesses a keen eye for detail. This is a fast paced and deadline oriented office. Experience in a computerized environment is essential for the position.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and the Internet is essential. An understanding of Lotus Notes would be an asset. Strong communication skills (both

Position: JOURNALISM WORK PLACEMENT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will report directly to The President of Sensors Quality Management Inc. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Completing an analysis, to ascertain whether the company is environmentally friendly and utilizes green initiatives;
- Make recommendations on ways to make the office more eco- friendly and green;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be working towards a degree in Environmental Studies. Success in this position depends on the individual’s ability to work both independently and as a member of the team. He / she should possess a critical eye for detail, be organized and thorough. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet are also required. Enthusiasm, energy, and a goal / results-oriented attitude are prerequisites.

Position: MARKETING WORK PLACEMENT
Full/Part - Time:20-40 hours per week. Two or four month terms. Salary: This is an unpaid work placement position. SQM will reimburse TTC fare and office supplies, as needed. SQM work placement positions offer valuable, practical work experience, an opportunity to test your skills, and the chance to learn new concepts. While SQM does not guarantee the availability of employment, many students have continued with us in a paid position, or have been hired by our suppliers or clients, after they have successfully completed their placement. The work placement students will report directly to the President, but will also be liaising with the Marketing Team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing a variety of surveys and research methodologies for a consumer behavioural study that profiles customers according
to demographics and psychographics;
- Completing Mystery Shops;
- Completing Competitive Analyses and Industry SWOT Analyses;
- Developing and / or implementing direct-mail campaigns;
- Participating in the development of company brochures;
- Participating in sales / marketing strategy sessions;
- Assisting in maintaining a strong internet presence for the company, and
- Other duties as required.
